East Yorkshire Open Access Walks

A number of the walks detailed on this blog pass through Open Access Land. I have found a fantastic leaflet, produced by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, detailing ten incredible walks that utilises these areas, showcasing some of the very best countryside and villages East Yorkshire has to offer.
The leaflet is available to download from the East Riding Council web site or by selecting the picture above.
The walks detailed in the leaflet range from 2.5 miles to 10 miles, covering a large area of the county, however if longer walks are preferred please select my East Yorkshire Walks page tab above, where a full list of walks within the county are available, some of which incorporate the open access routes discussed in the leaflet. The interactive map below shows locations of The Walking Cave Man walks

For a full detailed view of current Open Access areas and any current restrictions, please refer to the Natural England web site.
This web site also has a useful interactive map (although not very user friendly) detailing designated Open Access/CRoW areas for any particular area. The detailing on this map is not the best, however does give the user an idea of the locations that are available.
Selecting the diagram below gives a direct view of the areas within East Yorkshire (this can be drilled down), however using the search facility will help find areas of land in your particular area of interest (select here).
The East Riding of Yorkshire is a fabulous area for walking and would encourage everyone to take a look at some of the walks listed on this site and also to incorporate some of the Open Access areas detailed in the leaflet.
Happy walking and may all your walks be long ones!
